"Missed Connections" explores the contrast between in-person and text communication, highlighting the overlooked nuances absent in text messages. By lacking body language and vocal tones, text-based communication leads to misunderstandings. This artwork captures this complexity with a vibrant magenta brushstroke symbolizing lost connections amid misunderstandings, overthinking, and noise that surrounds it. It’s all chaos in the storm, except for that eye, where there are blue skies and calm air. The only place where you will be able to see the sky and find peace and calm is in the “eye” of the storm. When the world is rushing by, are you watching the storm from the peaceful center of the eye? If you focus on the things that are being thrown around you – if you lock your eyes on specific positions, tasks, people, emotions or objects that are spinning around you – you will end up spinning yourself. But if you choose to look at yourself and what brings you peace and serenity, you will be able to stand no matter what.
